Through sponsorship of discussions, lectures, program and forums, HATA connects people in the community with the agricultural producers. These educational programs allow people to learn more about food production and meet the producers. HATA also provides assistance and training to
producers to improve the producers’ agritourism program. HATA will raise awareness and understanding of agriculture through these educational programs."

The American Farm Bureau defines agritourism as: "the act of visiting a working farm or any horticultural or agricultural operation for the purpose of enjoyment, education, or active involvement in the activities at the a farm or operation that also adds to the economic viability of the site."
