Iole Ag Journey‘Iole Ag Journey
Your family is invited to embark on an agricultural adventure through the stunning ‘Iole ahupua’a. Discover various ways to live in harmony with the earth while exploring traditional and contemporary methods of sustainable agriculture on three farms all located on the same beautiful, historic property. This tour is specifically designed for young people of all ages and their families.

Tours run twice monthly on Wednesdays from 2:30pm – 4:30pm. Tours may also be booked for custom dates and times for groups of 6 or more.

The Hawai’i Institute of Pacific (HIP) Agriculture’s annual fundraiser takes place each November, and it’s an event the whole family will love! The day includes keiki activities, educational agricultural workshops, fresh local organic food, Hawaiian cultural activities, and an exciting line-up of musicians and entertainers. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the sustainable agricultural movement on Hawai’i Island. All proceeds go toward HIP Agriculture’s youth education programs.

Lokahi Garden SanctuaryLokahi Garden Sanctuary
Rejuvenate and nourish yourself at a working farm, garden sanctuary and wellness retreat center located on ten lush acres with sweeping ocean views. Lokahi Garden Sanctuary includes extensive vegetable, medicinal and culinary herb gardens, fruit and nut orchards, and small tree forests that include native and “useful” trees. Animals in residence include over 40 chickens, 13 sheep, 2 horses, a cow, three dogs and a cat. Guests can enjoy walking tours, a garden-fresh lunch, and plant-based spa and massage treatments.

Palili O Kohala Farm TourPalili ‘O Kohala Farm Tour
Palili ‘O Kohala, is a taro-farming cooperative and Natural Farming Learning Lab located just minutes from Hawi town. Take a tour of the farm’s taro fields, wetland taro patch, Natural Farming piggery and chicken house, and learn how to plant a taro huli in the ground the Hawaiian way.

A lu’au to benefit the Palili ‘O Kohala project, a ten-family taro growing cooperative the addresses food self-sufficiency, food security and economic developent in North Kohala. This annual event is held at the Palili ‘O Kohala Natural Farming Learning Lab in Hawi, and includes Hawaiian music, local food, workshops and demonstrations.
